Do you have green ideas to share?

This is a topic I've been meaning to add for some time. News in my state reminded me of it -- NJ is starting to offer "single stream" recycling. What this means is that residents will not need to sort before recycling. Paper can be mixed with metal and plastic. The problem is, somewhere along the line, somebody has to sort it.

I do see the benefit. More people will recycle if it's easier to do so. I guess it will create more jobs. Just what we need in NJ - more salaries to pay out of our taxes.

Is there a place where you can "report" waste?

Did you ever go to one of those "shopping villages" where all the shops are separate, but their door are open in the summer and all that air conditioning is blasting out? I was reminded of that today in the opposite sense.

While waiting for a shuttle bus (my contribution to the green effort) I noted that inside the bus station the electric heaters were BLASTING away! The doors were open in an obvious effort to keep things cooler but it was 80 DEGREES OUTSIDE!! It's JUNE!!

I called the customer service number but they were closed. Hopefully I will remember to call tomorrow. But I was wishing there was a place where you can make note of such waste, and people will make the effort to contact whoever's in charge -- NJ Transit, the shopkeeper, etc. -- to enourage them to make things right.

It's very discouraging to make the effort of taking the bus, only to see this waste going on.

It's called Green Works, supposedly environmentally friendly. It's very pleasant to use, and it seems to do a good job cleaning. Just thought I'd share...

Well I'm just up on my own little soap box here, aren't I? Feel free to chime in!

I have good news regarding my earlier rant about air conditioned businesses leaving their doors open. Apparently the NY City Council will be voting next week to decide if these businesses should be compelled to close their doors, and fined if they don't!

I hope it passes! It's absurd to be walking down a hot street and then be blasted with ice cold air. As good as it feels, it's a devastating waste of energy and contributor of global warming.

Hello Everybody,

When we move out of our houses, don't we feel suffocated.there was a time when one used to come out of their houses to avoid suffocation. We need to really think over this topic as it is of great concern.
